Kenyanda Reddy

I am everything I attempt to be, a stereotype breaker and a force that can not be reckoned with. A heartfelt, emotionally driven woman who inspires to be greater than she was the hour before. I am an entrepreneur who also works with children on many different levels. I am a mentor, activist, mother, and wife who loves a challenge. I am that friend, coworker, neighbor, or bystander that will go to bat for you when you don’t have the strength to go to bat for yourself. I am:

Kenyanda S. Reddy-

R.U. Reddy?

My Story

I am a Los Angeles county native who grew up in San Gabriel Valley. I grew up a square, I listened to Power 106 and loved Cindi Lauper, Janet Jackson and  Madonna. My grandparent’s where my parents and my life was lovely up until around the age of 12 or 13. I was picked up by my momma and she took me on a mission that would forever change my life. She took me to Compton! There I became a common statistic. I had to adapt to my environment, adopted some survival tactics and became a gang member, a teen mom, drug addict, single parent, domestically abused high school dropout, welfare recipient and honey the list went on and on and on. That is when I started fighting for my life!

I had a son I adored and I had to get him out. I moved away in an attempt to make sure my son didn’t become the next statistic and yup, it was all bad for that mission as well. I stopped, caught a breath and asked myself, “R.U.REDDY?” In my brain I was. I enrolled into Business Administration School, graduated and from there Miss Reddy began to form. I changed my mind frame, shook some friends, stopped participating in certain activities and even though I stumbled, banged my head, almost died, and repeated a few things before I got it, I SURVIVED!

So here I am today, teaching, beating odds, knocking down walls and mentoring many along the way. There is a way out, but before you make it out, you have to ask yourself, R.U. REDDY? Because if you're not, you're just wasting your time. I am here for anyone who is Reddy, I didn’t get here by myself so for the mentor’s before me who paved the way, I will honor them by mentoring others.

Rest in Heaven Mrs. Carzette Mckenzie

Sincerely,

Miss Reddy
